It’s a bit of a fixer-upper!

You sang that blog title didn’t you….

Here’s our humble abode that we will one day call home – hopefully sooner rather than later. As of right now my patience is running thin from sanding trim and doors, but I know all the hard work will be worth it if we can just stick with it! We are doing everything we can to make this fixer-upper as low costing as possible. Some things we can do ourselves, but there are a few things that need to be contracted out! Here are pics from before any demo was completed and what we’ve done in the past 2 weeks πŸ™‚

Have a nice trip to the 60’s? I didn’t even know they made pink toilets back then, much less pink tubs. God love ’em. So here’s what we’ve undone so far…our main goals were ripping up all carpet, removing the living room wall to make an open space between living room, dining room, and kitchen, gutting purple bathroom due to rotted subfloor, and PAINT.

Purple Bathroom gutted – hello rotted subfloor!

Bye Carpet πŸ™‚ Smells better already!

Patching walls and picking up staples.

IMG_1032Once we get our columns installed we will be able to lay the floor. Hopefully before that we can paint everything, but that is all depending on construction. Of course Kentucky would decide after the coldest, wettest summer to be blazing hot and humid when we start remodeling. So work time is limited due to the heat!

More updates to come soon!
